Frans Vischer

Frans Vischer is a children’s book author and illustrator, with a background in animation.

Mr. Vischer’s family immigrated to America from Holland when he was eleven. Speaking no English, he communicated with his drawings. After graduating from CalArts he was hired by the Disney studio and worked on such films as “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” “The Princess and The Frog,” “Frozen,” and “Mary Poppins Returns.”

Making children’s books grew out of his love for reading, combining writing with his background in animation- strong, visual storytelling and appealing characters that connect with readers.

Mr. Vischer is also a professor at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA.

His books are; Jimmy Dabble, middle-grade novel, (Dutton, 2001,) Fuddles, A Very Fuddles Christmas, and Fuddles And Puddles, (Simon & Schuster, 2011, 2013, 2016,) and Mate & Rix Escape Boredom, Addition with Regrouping, (written by Jolie Curran, 2022.) He has several new picture books and graphic novels in the works.
