A. J. B. Johnston

A. J. B. Johnston writes both history and fiction. Most of his history books are about the French or Acadian presence in Atlantic Canada, but he also penned a book about a 1960s rock 'n' roll band that was renowned across the Canadian Maritime Provinces. As for his fiction, it has risen out of various historical research projects. His most recent novel is a 21st-century take on the Acadian Deportation of 1755; three earlier novels were inspired by the real-life adventures of Thomas Pichon. As of 2024, Johnston is writing the fourth and final book in that Pichon series. A. J. B. Johnston also regularly works as an interpretive writer for different museum or national historic site exhibits. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
