Daniel P. Aldrich
Daniel grew up in upstate New York, spent much of his childhood living and traveling in Europe, and then went on to college and graduate school. While in Japan, he wondered why the only country that experienced the horrors of nuclear weapons then went on to build the world’s most advanced commercial atomic energy program. His first job at Tulane University never started in 2005 due to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, which destroyed his home and possessions and pushed him to study disasters. He lives near Boston and works at Northeastern University, directing the Resilience Studies Program.
