I love seeing the push and pull between characters in these stories as they get to know each other, come to appreciate each other, and realize that maybe their partnership doesn’t have to be just business. It shows that love can develop in the most unexpected of places.

He needs a wife to inherit the family business. She’s single and wants a baby. They strike a deal. I love this book because it takes two characters that don’t even like each other very much to begin with and forces them to grow together. It’s emotional at times, upbeat at others, and as with all Melanie Harlow books, just a lot of fun over all.

He’s a professional athlete who’s about to be deported unless he can get married quickly. She’s his long-suffering, under-appreciated assistant. What I love about this book is that she’s ready to tell him to get lost when he proposes his crazy idea, and while she agrees to help him, she stands firm in who she is, what she wants, and what she deserves.

The Marriage Effect

Karla Sorensen, 2023
He’s raising his younger sisters and needs a wife to help him keep custody of them. She isn’t exactly who he’d choose for the role, but they strike a mutually beneficial arrangement. I love the relationship between Logan and his sisters, and the budding relationships between Paige and her new family members. It’s a lovely, heartwarming read.

Beautifully Broken Redemption

She’s running from her past, and he’s determined to protect her. I’ll preface this by saying that I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with a Catherine Cowles book. They’re all beautifully written, and this is no different. It will break you and then put you back together again.

The Husband Hoax

Saxon James, 2023
This book starts with a case of right place, right time. Christian is in need of saving and Émile is only too happy to step up. Both main characters have family issues, but together they create their own found family. It’s a wonderful story, funny at times and deep at others. This whole series is fantastic.
