It's a Comics Mystery -- for Kids!

Getting the mysteries right was very important to me in writing the InvestiGators series. I loved series like Encyclopedia Brown and The Boxcar Children and The Hardy Boys (and also watching Scooby Doo and Inspector Gadget on television!) when I was a kid. From them, I learned that every good detective needs a partner so that they can talk out crimes together; and every good detective especially needs all the tools they can use to figure out who the villain is (for my characters, Mango and Brash, those come contained in their very snazzy vests). In their first adventure, filled with cupcakes, a missing chef and oven, and all sorts of shenanigans, Mango and Brash start down the road of revealing another essential mystery element: a tragic past!

Eleanor Davis’ art is amazing, intricate, colorful, and perfectly suited to depicting mysteries.

This combination of a super-savvy monster-wrangler and her new very recalcitrant companion makes for a delightful set of adventures.
