I read this before it was popular, because I really enjoyed Chernow’s The House of Morgan (https://amzn.to/4bJAZ4T). Chernow understands economic history and the people who shaped it. Hamilton was critical to the creation of the US financial system.

This is a classic exploration of financial bubbles. It was published in 1841 and continues to be relevant because bubbles continue to play out in almost the exact same way, over and over again. People get excited, valuations overshoot, and it all comes crashing down.

Michael Lewis, 2010

Michael Lewis started his career selling bonds at Salomon Brothers. He left with a bang by writing this memoir of his time as a junior staffer at what was then a giant investment bank. He has gone on to write several other great books, some of which are about the investing business.

Benjamin Franklin is one of the most fascinating people associated with the American Revolution. He’s the prototypical autodidact, eccentric American, thrifty and prudent but also with a wild streak. This is a fun and interesting read.
