Mystery editor Taylor Browning is back with her cats and this time the "cantankerous" Oscar and new brother Cheddar get in on the action. A mystery readers book club is coming apart at the seams when their president disappears into thin air. Taylor investigates a chile smuggling operation and a kidnapped restaurateur to see if they add up to murder. She and co-worker Jim Wells enter the ominous Pecos Triangle in an effort to find the missing woman. What they don't know is forces beyond their experience might hinder the search.
