I’m a geography professor and travel writer. Alongside my academic work I write books about new and disappearing islands, about the world of mapping, and about the planet’s hidden and overlooked corners. My books have been translated into 19 languages and speak to a universal need to imagine places that remain, resolutely, stubbornly, or just weirdly and literally, ‘off the map’.
